Plant ManagerKansas City, MO | Fully Onsite Full-Time | Direct Hire| up to $130,000 annuallyLHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a leading Manufacturing company, specifically in Automotive, that is seeking to bring on a Plant Manager. The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and stability of a manufacturing facility. This role has full accountability for operations, people leadership, customer performance, safety, quality, and financial results. The Plant Manager sets the tone for the site, drives operational discipline, and leads to necessary change to stabilize and strengthen plant performance.This position requires a strong, confident leader with manufacturing experience who can balance shop-floor visibility with strategic oversight and cross-functional coordination.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide full leadership and accountability for plant operations, including production, safety, quality, inventory, and delivery performance Establish clear expectations, standards, and accountability across all departments and shifts Lead and develop the plant leadership team, including operations, supervisors, and support functions Drive workforce stability by addressing early-tenure turnover, strengthening frontline leadership, and improving employee engagement Oversee inventory strategies to ensure customer requirements are met and risks of production or customer shutdowns are minimized Serve as the primary point of contact for customer-facing matters, including performance, certifications, and operational communication Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and applicable certifications Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, safety, quality, and cost Partner with corporate and regional leadership on operational reviews, goal setting, and performance reporting Ensure effective use of plant systems and tools related to production, inventory, maintenance, and workforce management Maintain high visibility on the shop floor while also managing administrative and strategic responsibilitiesQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or business management (Required)At least 8+ years of proven experience managing manufacturing or plant operations At least 7+ years of previous experience within the manufacturing industry- preferably within steel and/or automotiveStrong people leadership skills with the ability to supervise, coach, and hold teams accountable Experience with production scheduling, labor planning, and day-to-day operational execution Solid understanding of safety practices in a manufacturing environment Ability to manage through change and lead in a fast-paced, hands-on setting Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with hourly staff and supervisorsFamiliarity with inventory management and production planning concepts (e.g., MRP-supported environments) Exposure to multi-shift operations Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with maintenance, quality, and leadership teams
