About the jobTiello has partnered with a well-established, employee-owned civil and structural engineering consulting firm in the Kansas City, MO and St. Joseph, MO areas that has an immediate need for a Transportation Bridge Design EngineerThis role focuses on bridge and transportation structure projects across Missouri, offering the opportunity to be hands-on in design while collaborating with internal teams, municipalities, and DOTs. You will play a key role in delivering projects from concept through construction while contributing to technical excellence and strong client relationships.ResponsibilitiesLead and support the analysis, planning, and design of bridge and transportation structure projectsPrepare bridge designs, plans, specifications, and technical reportsCollaborate with clients, DOTs, municipalities, architects, and internal engineering teamsSupport projects through construction, including coordination and problem-solvingContribute to project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality controlMaintain communication with project stakeholders to ensure successful deliveryAssist in mentoring junior engineers and supporting team developmentQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis2+ years of experience designing bridge or transportation structure projects in the U.S.Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtainStrong understanding of structural/bridge design principles and project deliveryAbility to manage priorities and deliver projects on time and within budgetEffective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentRequired SkillsExperience with bridge or transportation structure design projectsStrong technical design and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyAttention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external partnersPreferred SkillsExperience working with DOT projects and standardsProgressive project responsibility and leadership experienceInterest or experience in mentoring junior staffStrong organizational and project management skillsCollaborative mindset with a solutions-oriented approachPay range and compensation package$100,000 - $135,000 annually.
