Job Description:
AVP, Investment Operations AVP, Investment Operations plays a critical role in supporting the investment, portfolio management, and operations functions of a growing private credit platform. This individual will function as a key liaison between the investment teams, operations, fund administrators, investment accounting, and external counterparties. The role requires strong analytical skills, diligence, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment. Support business growth: Support the onboarding of new reinsurance deals into the Investments Operational infrastructure, driving standardization and process improvements. Manage the onboarding of new asset managers and their integration onto Fortitude-Re platform (e.g. funds, separately managed accounts, direct investments) Support onboarding and due diligence of new investment vehicles, managers and operational setups. Develop deep relationships with our external managers, custodians, and administrators serving as a key contact for proactively resolving operational issues. Investment lifecycle support: Oversee all processes for private credit investments including funded/unfunded commitments, delay-draw facilities CML, RML and structured notes and coordinate funding requirements across treasury and finance teams. Own post trade operations and settlement workflow by collaborating closely with custodians, administrators, and counterparties, proactively identifying and resolving issues and implementing process improvements. Coordinate capital calls and distributions with fund administrators and cash management teams. Monitor liquidity requirements for funds and separately managed accounts to ensure timely funding of transactions and expenses. Identify process gaps and implement scalable solutions to support business growth. Controls process and documentation: Review and maintain standard procedures across multiple functions. Oversee control processes and drive operational excellence. Own and enhance KPI framework and metrics to proactively identify issues and drive process and control improvements. Work closely with our Data team to leverage data architecture improvements. Lead and review the development of automated reports and dashboards to facilitate the management of the investment portfolio and the sharing of information with key stakeholders. Cross functional collaboration: Act as a trusted operational resource to investment professionals, providing guidance on structuring, operational feasibility, and execution considerations. Serve as the bridge between investment professionals, legal, treasury, accounting, and external administrators. Provide operational insights to support investment decision-making and portfolio construction. Address ad-hoc inquiries relating to data, investment activities, etc Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices. What you will have: Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field 7+ years of investment operations, fund accounting, Middle Office, and/or asset management processes Strong working knowledge of Fixed Income securities and Strong experience with private credit, private equity, real assets, or structured/illiquid Exposure to insurance or reinsurance investment portfolios, statutory reporting, or regulated asset managers strongly preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and highly collaborative work style. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment. Highly organized, meticulous, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
