Position Type: Administration/Business Manager Date Posted: 2/27/2026 Location: Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools Date Available: 04/01/2026 Corporation Business Manager / Treasurer The Business Manager/Treasurer serves as a financial officer of the school corporation and is responsible for the management, oversight, and stewardship of all financial affairs of the district. The position ensures fiscal integrity, transparency, and compliance with Indiana statutes, State Board of Accounts (SBOA) requirements, and local board policy while supporting the district's strategic priorities and educational mission. The Business Manager/Treasurer assists the Superintendent on financial planning, budgeting, operations, and long-term fiscal sustainability. Report Superintendent Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Management Assist the superintendent with development, monitoring, and management of the corporation's annual budget. Provide long-range financial forecasting and multi-year fiscal planning. Monitor revenues, expenditures, cash flow, and fund balances to ensure financial stability. Prepare financial reports and recommendations for the Board of School Trustees. Oversee accounting systems and internal financial controls. Ensure accurate financial reporting and transparency. Serve as Treasurer of the school corporation in accordance with Indiana Code. Maintain custody and accountability of all corporation funds. Oversee investment of corporation funds consistent with statute and board policy. Authorize disbursements and ensure proper documentation and approvals. Maintain accurate financial records and reconciliations. Board Governance & Support Attend regular and special meetings of the Board of School Trustees. Prepare, record, and maintain official Board meeting minutes in accordance with Indiana Open Door Law and public record requirements. Ensure accurate documentation and preservation of official board actions, resolutions, and financial approvals. Assist in preparation of financial materials and supporting documentation for board agendas and meetings. Compliance & Audit Oversight Ensure compliance with: Indiana State Board of Accounts requirements Indiana Department of Education reporting Federal grant compliance regulations Coordinate and serve as primary liaison for all financial audits. Implement corrective actions and internal controls as needed. Budget & Financial Reporting Lead preparation and submission of: Annual Financial Report (AFR) Gateway submissions Debt management reports Provide financial analysis to support board decisions and strategic initiatives. Purchasing & Financial Operations Establish and monitor purchasing procedures and internal controls. Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes. Ensure proper procurement practices and contract compliance. Oversee asset inventory and fixed asset reporting. Debt & Capital Financing Assist with coordination of bond issuances, refinancing, and capital financing initiatives. Work collaboratively with financial advisors, bond counsel, and underwriters. Monitor debt service funds and long-term obligations. Leadership & Collaboration Serve as a member of the Superintendent's leadership team. Collaborate with administrators to align financial resources with instructional priorities. Provide financial training and guidance to principals and school treasurers. Communicate financial information clearly to staff, board members, and community stakeholders. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required. Experience Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible financial management experience. Experience in public sector or school finance preferred. Knowledge of Indiana school finance preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
