Camp Male Counselor & Instructor (Music Conservatory) GA-CMP Camp Grandview - JASPER, GA 30143 Overview Position Type: Seasonal Full Time Category: Camp About This Opportunity Salary: $400.00 (weekly) This position is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and supervising an assigned group of children and youth participating in a Christian c promotes quality of programs and safety of campers at all times; provides faith-based guidance and role modeling to campers; promotes and stimulates camper participation; coordinates and leads campers through their daily schedule ensuring punctuality and responsibility; supervises campers during unscheduled program time and evenings; ensures compliance with camp rules and regulations at all times. Participates alongside campers during camp worship meetings and times of prayer. Leads devotional activities and faith-based songs with campers and supports the seeker's ministry. Incumbent also functions as a music instructor to assist and support the musical component of the Music Conservatory program. Key Responsibilities: Demonstrates Christ-like care and will be responsible for praying with campers, encouraging them spiritually, and guiding them in their Christian walk. While on duty, staff members conducting these ministerial responsibilities must ensure that their words, actions, and behavior align with the doctrines and theology of The Salvation Army. Supervises and organizes an assigned group of campers during scheduled activities and unscheduled blocks of time in cooperation with camp rules and regulations. Promotes and stimulates participation of campers to ensure a pleasant camp experience. Supervises cabin clean up and work details. Provides quality music instruction to campers. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers. Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity. Some physical requirements of the Camp Head Counselor position include endurance, including climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required for manipulating activities. Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions. What We Are Looking For In You Six months of experience teaching child development or youth programs in a church is preferred. Six months' experience teaching music, with the ability to play and teach lessons in a classroom setting involving more than one student preferred. Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
