Freight Broker-Logistics

Duval Ford is seeking a motivated Freight Broker / Logistics Specialist for our new in -house freight brokerage division, Duval Fleet Logistics, responsible for developing new freight brokerage business while managing daytoday logistics operations. This role combines sales, prospecting, carrier sourcing, and freight coordination to move automotive shipments and other freight efficiently and profitably. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fastpaced logistics environment where they are responsible for both generating freight opportunities and executing shipments from pickup through delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentProspect and develop new shipper relationships through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and industry contactsBuild and manage a pipeline of freight opportunities across automotive, commercial fleet, and general freight sectorsGenerate and negotiate freight quotes with shippersMaintain ongoing relationships with customers to secure repeat businessIdentify opportunities to expand Duval Fleet Logistics' transportation servicesFreight Brokerage OperationsSource and vet qualified carriers to cover freight shipmentsNegotiate rates with carriers and secure capacity for shipmentsCoordinate pickup and delivery scheduling between shippers and carriersTrack shipments from dispatch to delivery and proactively resolve issuesMaintain communication with customers and carriers regarding shipment statusEnsure proper documentation including rate confirmations, bills of lading, and delivery receiptsAutomotive Logistics CoordinationManage transportation of vehicles including dealership transfers, fleet deliveries, and commercial vehicle shipmentsCoordinate transport providers for vehicle shipments including hotshots, car haulers, and commercial carriersEnsure vehicles and freight are transported safely and efficientlyAdministrative & ComplianceMaintain accurate shipment records and load tracking in logistics systemsVerify carrier insurance, safety ratings, and compliance documentationAssist with billing, rate verification, and shipment documentationMonitor carrier performance and maintain strong carrier relationshipsQUALIFICATIONSRequired1+ years experience in freight brokerage, logistics coordination, or transportation salesStrong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsAbility to manage multiple shipments simultaneouslyExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational and time-management abilitiesPreferredCurrent book of business, shipper relationships, warm prospects Experience with automotive logistics or vehicle transportKnowledge of freight brokerage systems or TMS platformsExisting shipper or carrier relationshipsExperience working in a high-volume brokerage or logistics environmentKey SkillsFreight brokerage salesCarrier sourcing & negotiationLoad planning & dispatchCustomer relationship managementShipment tracking & problem resolutionAutomotive logistics knowledgeDuval Fleet offers a full suite of benefits to include but not limited to: closed Sundays, paid time off, medical , dental, retirement savings and award winning wellness programs.
