Job Description The Center for Career Exploration & Development's (CCED's) Social Media & Marketing Coordinator plays a central role in strengthening CCED's campus presence and student engagement. This student employee develops and manages marketing content that promotes career readiness programs, employer events, workshops, signature initiatives, and digital resources. While this role collaborates with the Career Corner Podcast team (including the podcast's Marketing Strategist), it is distinct from the podcast production team and focuses more broadly on promoting CCED services and increasing student awareness and participation. This paid position provides an opportunity to build a professional marketing portfolio, develop strategic communication skills, and gain hands-on experience in digital engagement within a higher education setting. Pay Rate: 16.15 Job Responsibilities Social Media & Digital Marketing Create and manage engaging content for CCED social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn and Instagram) Develop graphics, short-form videos, reels, and promotional materials using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms Draft and schedule posts to promote events, highlight employers, resources, and student success stories Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across platforms Collaborate with professional staff to create marketing plans for major initiatives (e.g., Job & Internship Fairs, Career Opportunities Week, and workshops) Strategy & Analytics Track social media engagement and performance metrics Analyze trends and recommend strategies to increase student engagement and attendance at events Research best practices in higher education marketing and student digital engagement Collaboration & Communications Coordinate with the Career Corner Podcast Marketing Strategist to ensure aligned promotion efforts Attend occasional staff meetings to gather content and understand upcoming priorities Support development of print materials, digital signage and other communications as needed Professional Expectations Commit approximately 5-8 hours per week (flexible depending on campaign cycles) Meet deadlines consistently and communicate proactively about projects Represent the Center for Career Exploration & Development in a professional and inclusive manner Contribute to cultivating a respectful, welcoming, and student-centered campus environment Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience creating social media content and marketing materials Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills Attention to visual branding and detail Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant social media platforms Ability to interpret engagement data and make strategic recommendations Interest in marketing, communications, digital media, or related fields Strong time management and ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other digital design software Experience managing or contributing to an organizational social media account Interest in career development and student engagement Applicants must: Be entering their sophomore year or above by the fall semester Be in good academic standing Instructions to Apply Apply via the HR Recruitment Cloud.
