Controller - Manufacturing Company (Islandia, NY)Salary: $90,000-$120,000 | Full-Time | On-Site (Hybrid Potential After Ramp-Up) A well?established manufacturing company in Islandia, NY is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the organization's accounting operations and support the financial leadership of the business. This is a hands?on role that combines daily accounting management with higher?level financial oversight and strategic involvement. The position is fully on-site to start, with the possibility of a future hybrid schedule once performance and reliability are demonstrated. Position Overview The Controller will manage the company's accounting function, supervise a team of staff accountants, and partner closely with senior leadership on financial planning, reporting, and operational decision?making. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, leadership ability, and a proactive, solutions?oriented mindset. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, general ledger, payroll, order entry, and related financial workflows Manage, mentor, and develop a team of staff accountants Prepare monthly and annual GAAP?compliant financial statements Coordinate with external CPA firm during annual audits Manage cash flow, including vendor payments, receivables, and banking relationships Prepare bank reporting and communicate directly with loan officers as needed Oversee sales tax, excise tax, and other regulatory filings Maintain and update accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures Prepare payroll, commissions, credits, reconciliations, and royalty reports Maintain insurance policies (general liability, medical, disability, life, workers' comp) Oversee 401(k) administration, including contributions, enrollments, and annual filings Support IT coordination with outsourced providers to ensure systems reliability Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Maintain documentation related to patents, trademarks, and renewal schedules Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred, not required) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior management or supervisory experience strongly preferred Proven ability to oversee full?cycle accounting operations Strong analytical and problem?solving skills Experience with ERP systems and comfort learning new software High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast?paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Compensation & Benefits Salary: $90,000-$120,000, depending on experience Medical and dental insurance Generous PTO structure (holidays, vacation, sick/personal time) 401(k) with company match Long?term disability insurance Additional company perks and benefits Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $90,000.00 - $120,000.00
