Join AZAD as an Opto/Mechanical Technician Level 2 who will be responsible for the advanced assembly of optical systems for lasers, laser radars and electro-optical sensors and instruments.This is a full-time consultant position based in Irvine, CA with a high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. The hourly pay rate for this position isup to $30 doe plus 20% differentialdepending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.Schedule:the hours will be from 10pm - 6:30am. will need to train on first shift for a month (6am-230pm) Essential Functions:Responsible for the advanced assembly of optical systems for lasers, and electro-optical sensors and instrumentsFollow written procedures or drawings developed by engineers and suggest improvements to optimize productionAssemble and debug systems incorporating optical, mechanical, and electronic componentsTest each level of assembly (4-5 processes) at the system level using laboratory instruments (i.e. interferometer, Zygo, etc.)Audit 1-2 work order kits from warehouse to confirm pieces and part numbersPrepare subassembly componentsAlignment, optimization, stability, transmission, etc.Package the final assembly daily (if assembly is completed)Cross training is required (trainee and/or trainer)The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:2-4 years of related experience AA Degree, Technical Certification or equivalent is a plusThe ability to read engineering drawings and blueprintsThe ability use measurement instruments (interferometer, Zygo) preferredExperience entering data numbers into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets templatesThe ability to speak, read, and write in EnglishAZAD is looking for bright, talented, flexible, and customer centric problem solvers who enjoy the challenges associated with solving the most complex problems by utilizing the most sophisticated technologies and strong people skills.Founded and managed by technologists and engineers, AZAD is a leading provider of Consulting Services to Fortune 500 and innovative firms since 1992.AZAD's model provides a unique employment experience that is career path focused, relationship based and dedicated to advocacy and retention with an average tenure of 9 years.Our collaborative approach to support our clients, projects and supporting our employees' career paths are the keys to our success.
