Everything we do is grounded in our Mission, Vision, and Values.Leidos’ Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support our Senior Director of the Development & Sustainment Division in the Indirect Fires & Force Protection (IFFP) Business Area. This role provides day-to-day program execution leadership, coordinating engineering, production, test, and sustainment activities to ensure program performance across cost, schedule, technical, and risk. The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering background—logistics or sustainment experience is a plus but not required. The position will also be customer facing and represent the program in the absence of the Senior Director.Primary Responsibilities:Support the Senior Director in planning, organizing, and executing development and sustainment activities across the program.Drive day-to-day program performance, ensuring cost, schedule, technical, and risk metrics are tracked and managed in alignment with PMO expectations.Coordinate across engineering, production, test, sustainment, supply chain, and functional teams to ensure integrated execution.Prepare and support program reviews, business rhythms, customer engagements, and leadership briefings.Assist with development of baselines, schedules, and risk management plans while supporting EVM and financial reporting activities.Contribute to proposal activities, follow-on captures, and technical planning packages.Promote continuous improvement, process discipline, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic, fast-paced engineering environment.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.8+ years of relevant experience in engineering, development, production, test, or program execution roles; or 6+ years experience with a Master's degree.Demonstrated ability to lead or support complex programs, projects, or IPTs.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to synthesize technical and programmatic data for leadership and customer presentation.Proven communication skills for interfacing with engineering teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in logistics, sustainment, ILS processes, lifecycle support planning, or product support analysis.Experience with EVM, schedule management, or control account management.Hands-on engineering development or production environment experience.Familiarity with defense acquisition lifecycle, including planning for development, integration, test, and fielding.Experience working within matrixed, multidisciplinary engineering organizations.PMP or equivalent program management certification preferred.Come break things (in a good way).
