Together we continue to grow as the world’s leading energy company!About the roleThe successful applicant will provide regional leadership and governance for Occupational Health (OH), Industrial Hygiene (IH), Public Health, and wellbeing, acting as the single point of accountability for bp businesses within the role remit. The position involves promotion of uniform processes, strategic input on health service contracts, supporting a strong health and safety culture, and monitoring performance through KPIs, actions which will grow the long-term value of bp and drive performance and continuous improvement.Who you will work withThe successful applicant will join an experienced, dedicated team of occupational health professionals and industrial hygienists to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of services. As not all businesses within the Americas region have existing OH/IH services, the successful applicant will work closely with embedded health teams and business leadership to drive operational efficiencies which, in turn, have the potential to increase health capacity and resource sharing with other businesses within the region.Job ResponsibilitiesEarly identification and effective prioritization of emerging health risks, ensuring prompt and expert input into business continuity and crisis management plans.Provision of timely and accurate technical guidance on health-related incidents, supporting robust organizational response and risk mitigation.Consistent execution and continuous improvement of standardized health processes across all business units, ensuring regional health requirements and expectations are met.Monitoring and verification of health self-assessment programs, ensuring alignment and conformance with bp’s operating management system and HSE requirements.Active contribution to the creation and maintenance of a positive organizational health culture, including the delivery and promotion of mental health and wellbeing initiatives.Support and enhancement of Central Health initiatives by employing specialist expertise and knowledge as required.Upholding medical confidentiality and data protection standards, through ethical management of all health and medical records, and ensuring data integrity and confidentiality at all times.Enhancing health capability by providing strategic input into contracts and performance management.Leadership on occupational health and industrial hygiene for emergency response, incident management, and business continuity management.RequirementsDegree and Accreditation: Licensed physician, board-certified in occupational health.Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience as an occupational physician.Management Skills: Proven management, leadership, influencing, and coaching abilities.Knowledge: In-depth understanding of health management processes, health and safety regulations, and relevant employment and civil laws in the US.Professional Judgement: Ability to make decisions in complex situations and provide clear direction using technical and business judgement.Stakeholder and Team Management: Strong stakeholder management experience, ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, relationship-building skills, and capacity to lead, mentor, and encourage teamwork in diverse and inclusive teams.Communication: Effective communication skills to engage with diverse teams and prioritize resources.Why join bpAt bp, we support our people to learn and grow in a diverse and challenging environment.
