Job Description:
Position Overview: This second-shift role is responsible for supporting manufacturing and engineering operations by optimizing production processes, improving equipment performance, and contributing to overall plant efficiency. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician works closely with cross-functional teams to enhance quality, safety, and throughput in a dynamic industrial setting.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate and support day-to-day manufacturing operations by troubleshooting equipment, processes, and production issuesAssist in the development, implementation, and refinement of manufacturing methods, tooling, and workflowsGather and analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvementContribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma activitiesParticipate in root cause analysis and help implement corrective and preventive actions for quality or process concernsCreate and maintain documentation such as work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process recordsProvide technical support for equipment installation, upgrades, and maintenance effortsCollaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient operationsAssist with capital equipment projects, including evaluation, setup, and validationConduct time studies, process capability assessments, and other performance evaluationsMaintain accurate records related to testing, calibration, and process performance metricsQualifications:Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experienceMinimum of 2 years in a manufacturing or production support environment, preferably within heavy industrial operationsStrong understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematicsExperience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometersFamiliarity with ERP systems, CAD/CAM software, and standard office applicationsExposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plusSolid analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skillsAbility to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
