This position bridges the art and science of packaging "” combining creative design with technical execution. The ideal candidate is a hands-on designer who enjoys mentoring others, improving processes, and contributing to the direction of the department as we continue to innovate. This role requires collaboration, creative problem-solving, and the ability to manage project timelines within a supportive team environment.Department: Design DepartmentReports To: Director, Design DepartmentLocation: PTI-USJob Type: Full-Time, salary exemptKey ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage parametric 3D CAD models and drawings of rigid and flexible packaging (EBM, ISBM, injection molded, and other plastic formats) using Siemens NXTranslate customer and marketing specifications into innovative, manufacturable design conceptsCollaborate with project engineers and tooling staff to ensure feasible, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing outcomesSupport and advance the department's design workflows, standards, and data management systems (Teamcenter)Contribute to planning, scheduling, and resource management for design projectsAssist with training and mentoring of junior designers and engineersParticipate in technology scouting"”help identify and implement new design tools such as rendering, simulation, and additive manufacturingSupport rapid prototyping and reverse-engineering efforts (e.g., 3D scanning and model reconstruction)Contribute to business development and promotion of design servicesCollaborate with leadership to establish pricing standards, departmental metrics, and performance reportingBuild and maintain effective professional relationships with team members, clients, and vendorsQualifications:RequiredBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or related field(equivalent professional experience will be considered)Demonstrated proficiency in 3D Computer Aided DesignSolid understanding of molded plastic part design, including shrinkage and tolerance controlStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to balance creative design intent with engineering constraintsSelf-motivated and organized, capable of managing multiple prioritiesPreferredExperience leading projects or mentoring othersFamiliarity with NX, Teamcenter, KeyShot, Blender, or other visualization softwareExposure to simulation tools for stress, flow, or shrinkage analysisExperience with 3D printing, scanning, or reverse-engineering toolsUnderstanding of data management practices and intellectual property protectionGrowth OpportunityThis role is intended to evolve.
