Procedure room experience with endoscopic procedures and equipment. Experience with moderate sedation. Description: The role involves working in the GI service area. Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience with endoscopic procedures and related equipment. Experience in both the procedure room and preparation/post-recovery areas is required. Candidates should be comfortable recovering patients from moderate sedation and may need experience in telemetry. Patient ratios will follow appropriate guidelines. Charge nurses may take patient assignments as needed. Phlebotomy skills are included in the role. The unit will have telemetry monitoring at the nursing station without dedicated technicians. There will be an IV/VAT team available for complex procedures. Resource nurses will be available at night to support the team. Respiratory therapists will be on site. Charting will be conducted using the EPIC system. Alaris and Pyxis systems are also utilized in the unit. Weekend rotation will involve working every other Saturday. Approval for time off is possible, up to one week. Holiday expectations are outlined for summer and winter seasons. Call requirements will vary based on unit need. No block scheduling can be accommodated. Scrub colors will be navy or procedural based on the work area. No artificial fingernails or extensions are allowed during patient care. Natural nail tips should be maintained at a length of less than one-quarter inch.
