In this patient facing role, you will be an important part of the team whose job is to support and deliver exceptional patient care to our patients. This position requires dedicated individuals who enjoy working with patients and doctors to provide exceptional patient care. Title: Ophthalmic TechnicianFull-Time positionMonday- Friday will include some SaturdaysFlexibility to travel between offices a must!Job purpose:Ensuring patient and doctor satisfaction by being a team player, working efficiently and being professional.Specific duties and responsibilities:Documenting an accurate chief complaintChecking visionUpdating medical historyDocumenting medicationsChecking intra-ocular eye pressureInstilling dropsSeating patients in exam roomsPrepping patients for injectionsConsenting patients for treatments/procedures/surgeryConfirming patient insurance authorizations for treatmentsPerforming any other clerical and/or technical duties assignedMust learn all aspects of the eye and eye healthBeing personable and friendly to patients and staffWorking as a team player by covering shifts, traveling to other locations or changing assignmentsPerforming OCT photosStocking suppliesKeeping work area cleanSkills that apply to this position:Experience in the medical field (Ophthalmic Field experience a plus)An understanding of the basic anatomy of the eye.Capable of screening and running patients thoroughly and in a timely manorExcellent problem-solving skillsKind and friendly personalityStrong organizational skillsAbility to Multitask in high pace/ high volume environmentCapable of taking directionBasic knowledge with computers
