JOB DESCRIPTION Director, Audiovisual Infrastructure and Experience, Enterprise Technology Services Full-Time, Hybrid (Boston or Springfield) The Opportunity Join us as the Director of Audiovisual Infrastructure and Experience (AVIX) and take charge of creating a cutting-edge audiovisual ecosystem that enhances user experience across our organization. You will lead strategic initiatives, ensure operational excellence, manage stakeholders, and provide technical guidance to deliver reliable and scalable AV technology throughout the enterprise. The Team You will oversee a dedicated team of AV designers, technical support staff, and solutions architects who work collaboratively to offer top-notch AV capabilities that elevate our workplace. This team manages conference room technologies, digital signage, event tech support, and the enterprise's media streaming and hosting platforms. The Impact: Strategy & Governance Develop and maintain the enterprise AV strategy, roadmap, and standards in alignment with our business objectives and workplace strategy. Establish architectural principles and technical standards for conference rooms, event spaces, digital signage, and media platforms. Assess and integrate emerging technologies, driving innovation to enhance collaboration and communication across the organization. Serve as the primary authority on AV design, integration, and user experience across all of our locations. Infrastructure & Operations Lead the design, implementation, lifecycle management, and support of AV technologies. Oversee the operations of user-facing AV platforms, ensuring they are consistent, reliable, and scalable. Manage enterprise media streaming and hosting capabilities, including live streaming and video-on-demand services. Guarantee high availability, performance, security, and compliance across all AV systems. Corporate Events & Executive Experience Provide expert technical leadership for corporate and executive events, ensuring seamless execution of in-person, hybrid, and virtual formats. Enhance production quality and reliability for high-visibility events like town halls and leadership meetings. Act as a trusted advisor to executives on AV experiences and presentation strategies. Coordinate effectively between stakeholders and technical teams for events. People Leadership Guide and mentor a team of technical professionals, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of service and accountability. Identify skill gaps and develop plans for future talent needs, ensuring operational efficiency. Encourage a user-first mindset focused on exceeding customer expectations and minimizing friction. Oversee resource allocation to balance daily operations and project commitments. Financial & Vendor Management Manage a significant operating and capital budget, including financial forecasting and cost optimization. Lead vendor management efforts, negotiating contracts and ensuring supplier accountability. Act as a Supplier Relationship Manager, ensuring vendors meet performance expectations. Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate with IT, Facilities, Space Design & Utilization, Communications, and Security teams to align AV strategies with wider enterprise goals. Work closely with Strategic Communications to support storytelling and internal objectives. Deliver executive-level briefings on performance, risk, and project progress. The Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in information technology, audio engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 8+ years in AV technology with demonstrated expertise in large-scale AV and unified communications environments. 2+ years of leadership or team lead experience. Willingness to travel bi-weekly between Boston and Springfield. The Ideal Qualifications Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, AVIXA CTS/CTS-D) are advantageous. Agile certifications (e.g., CSPO) or proven experience are beneficial. Strong knowledge in AV architectures, signal flow, control systems, and streaming technology integration. Experience with executive-level or broadcast-quality event support technologies. Proficient in budget management, vendor relations, and handling complex projects across multiple locations. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage stakeholders and engage effectively with end users.
