Job Description:
This position's primary focus is on developing and deploying network infrastructure, which involves conducting surveys for new locations and providing support for the daily management of operational sites throughout the Americas. Responsibilities include handling updates, refreshing existing sites, and performing tasks in data centers to maintain the network environment. The successful candidate will possess a background of at least four years supporting enterprise-level networks, especially in fast-paced, complex settings.Main Responsibilities:Oversee the global network, gaining deep expertise in one or more technical focus areas such as data, voice, wireless, or security.Collaborate closely with international IT teams and leadership, contributing to network projects from initial concept through design, equipment acquisition, configuration, installation, testing, documentation, and ongoing support tasks.Manage several initiatives at once"”ranging from launching new locations to performing upgrades for user bases that can vary from a few dozen up to a thousand.Act as a resource for advanced (tier-three) network issues at locations, including core data centers in Las Vegas and Dublin.Execute scheduled updates and perform essential maintenance and configuration adjustments in line with established change processes.Oversee network management tools while actively monitoring and resolving performance issues.Investigate incidents, determine underlying causes, and implement solutions.Expect periodic travel within and beyond the country as dictated by assignments or maintenance needs (approximately one quarter of the role).Monitor alerts, taking ownership of notifications received and ensuring issues are addressed or escalated.Demonstrate proficiency with voice technologies and relevant networking protocols.Support change controls, including being available for weekend coverage as needed.Engage in and advocate for the company's standards for managing changes, incidents, and problems.Creatively address challenges and consistently deliver beyond basic responsibilities.Represent proposed changes during advisory board meetings, prepared to explain and defend recommendations.Show ongoing commitment to professional development and refining technical practices.Foster strong working relationships with both team members and customers, maintaining professionalism at all times.Deliver high-quality work and maintain necessary technical expertise to meet evolving demands.Advise clients on system and application networking needs.Balance, organize, and prioritize tasks with guidance from leadership and advanced technical colleagues.Communicate and coordinate with other teams to ensure customer matters are handled appropriately.Track progress, meet deadlines, and document all implementations thoroughly.Support system upgrades and large-scale events with additional travel as required.Work autonomously and take initiative in addressing network needs.Qualifications, Experience, and Essential Skills:Academic background in computing or closely related field, or equivalent practical expertise.In-depth knowledge and hands-on skills with Cisco switching and wireless devices, especially in large-scale rollouts.Direct experience with routing, SD-WAN, firewall maintenance, voice services, network management software, automation, and cloud transitions.Certification such as CCNA is necessary, while CCNP is considered beneficial.Demonstrated success in installing and configuring network infrastructure for at least four years.Proven ability to handle simultaneous demands and prioritize effectively.Proficient in deploying, setting up, and tailoring enterprise networking equipment like switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls.Well-versed in adhering to structured change processes.Excellent communicator, both in writing and in speech.Culturally aware and experienced working both on-site and remotely anywhere in the Americas.Comfortable contributing independently and as part of a group.Familiarity with network segmentation is optional but valued.Certifications in Palo Alto, Checkpoint, or FortiGate firewalls are advantageous.Experience with Velocloud SD-WAN is useful but not mandatory.Broad, hands-on Cisco networking abilities, notably in routing, switching, and wireless.At least four years spent setting up, maintaining, and resolving issues across various networking disciplines, including site preparation and hardware acquisition.
