DescriptionThe Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.SkillsWe are currently seeking a self-motivated, energetic Mechanical Maintenance & Operations Tech I. Skills and expectations for this position include but are not limited to:Performing the work of employees in the maintenance and operation of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical systems and associated equipmentRepairs and maintains electrical, plumbing and sewerage spects and checks for the working performance of equipment.The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering Independence, preserving Dignity, and providing Compassionate Care.This agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190. A fingerprint- supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment.This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $3.38 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION:NONEEXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:NONESPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):Must be 18 years of age.Working ConditionsMay be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.
