General PurposeResponsible for all aspects of the Store's operations. Leads the entire operation to ensure Company standards and best practices are consistently met. Staffs, trains and develops leadership to deliver sales and profit results while maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. Recruits, trains and develops Associates. Manages Stockroom, Front End, and Sales Floor operations to ensure timely merchandise flow, proper receiving, and controlled expenses through best practices and productivity.
Essential Functions
General Operating RequirementsLeads all Company Best Practices and maximizes productivity by minimizing steps and touchesAnalyzes Store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall Store performanceAddresses variances to Company standards with action plans, in partnership with the District ManagerEnsures proper scheduling of Associates to meet business objectivesAccepts special assignments as directed by LeadershipResponsible for payroll administration including daily punch edits, scheduling compliance, Sunday payroll transmission, and payroll reporting as needed
Organizational DevelopmentRecruits, hires, trains and develops Assistant Managers, Area Supervisors and non-exempt AssociatesStrives to reduce Store turnover through selection, training and motivation; utilizes retention tools and ensures required training is completed timelyAddresses personnel and performance issues including coaching, warnings, progressive discipline and termination when neededEnsures compliance with Ross personnel policies and proceduresManages Associate relations issues in consultation with the District ManagerEnsures compliance with State, Local and Federal regulations
Expense ControlLeads expenditures to be within budgetControls payroll hours to plan and adjusts to business trends
Maintaining a Safe & Secure EnvironmentMaintains adherence to Company safety policies and ensures the safety of Associates and CustomersEnsures all Associates understand and can execute emergency operating procedures
Customer ServiceTreats Customers, Associates, and leaders with respectDemonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognizes Associates via recognition programsExecutes Customer service programs and Merchandise Presentation through training and supervisionSupervises and coaches Retail Associates in providing efficient service at registers, Customer Service desk, fitting rooms, and on the sales floor

Qualifications And Special Skills RequiredFive or more years of Store management experience in a retail environmentHigh level of Customer serviceAbility to lead, manage, motivate and communicate positively to Store Associates at all levelsAbility to train, coach and develop Associates at all levelsAbility to organize and prioritize tasks, develop a schedule and execute to achieve resultsFluency in EnglishIndependent judgment and discretionAbility to work evenings and weekends
Physical Requirements / ADAAbility to use Store equipment and spend up to 100% of time standing, walking, and moving around the Store. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs. Ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders. Ability to perform basic retail calculations.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirect supervision of the Assistant Store Manager, Area Supervisors and all Retail Associates.
