Pharmacy Director - Greensboro, North Carolina

Oversee and lead pharmacy operations in a behavioral health setting as the Director of Pharmacy at a well-established healthcare site preparing for Joint Commission review. This contract opportunity involves working closely with the outgoing Director of Pharmacy starting February 25th, with coverage needed until May 29th or until a permanent candidate is hired. Location: Greensboro, NC Job Type: Contract Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm On-call duties (typically light) Weekend coverage if part-time pharmacist does not cover, 8:00 am - 2:30 pm Key Responsibilities: Manage the pharmacy team including 2 part-time pharmacists and several full-time and part-time technicians Verify and dispense medications, oversee technician work, and assist with stocking automated systems Utilize HCS (Health Care Systems) for order entry; training available if needed Maintain pharmacy automation with Omnicell technology, recently installed in January 2024 Develop and update policies and procedures in collaboration with Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) and antimicrobial stewardship programs Ensure timely medication delivery, maintain staffing coverage, and manage budget controls for drug and personnel costs Desired Qualifications: Licensed Pharmacist in North Carolina Experience with inpatient pharmacy management Behavioral health pharmacy background preferred Knowledge or experience with Joint Commission accreditation processes Familiarity with HCS and Omnicell systems is advantageous but not mandatory This role requires 4-5 days of orientation and training alongside the outgoing Director to ensure smooth transition and continuity.
