Driver Manager

The Driver Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of assigned drivers to maximize productivity, ensure on-time service, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. This role serves as the primary point of contact for drivers, supporting their success while delivering excellent service to customers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCoordinate load assignments with planners and dispatch drivers on pre-planned loadsMonitor, track, and communicate with drivers throughout the day via phone, GPS systems and other tools.Ensure on-time delivery (OTD) performance and proactively address service disruptionsManage driver check calls, ETAs, PTAs, and RTAs350 solo miles per day or 600 team miles per day per day per truckTrack and locate missing paperwork and ensure all documentation is completed accuratelyCommunicate schedules, expectations, and updates clearly to driversServe as the primary liaison between drivers and internal departments (customer service, safety, maintenance, etc.)Address driver concerns, payroll inquiries, and operational issues in a timely mannerPromote a positive, productive relationship with drivers to support retention and engagementPromote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with DOT and Hours of Service (HOS) regulationsMonitor driver hours to prevent violations and ensure safe operationsCoordinate with safety and maintenance teams regarding equipment issues, delays, or breakdownsEnsure preventative maintenance is completed on all assigned equipmentFacilitate truck swaps as needed.
