Implement University Schools-approved curriculum with fidelity, including required instructional materials, pacing, and assessments. Promote a classroom environment that is safe, supportive, and conducive to individualized, small-group, and whole-group instruction. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to maximize learning experiences within available instructional time. Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and modify instructional methods to meet individual student needs, including students with special needs. Use student data to inform instruction and support academic and behavioral growth. Instruct students in responsible citizenship, social skills, and academic content in alignment with University Schools policies and expectations. Continue to acquire professional knowledge and remain current with best practices by participating in professional development, workshops, and collaborative learning opportunities. Organize and maintain accurate and complete records for student achievement, progress, attendance, and reporting in accordance with University Schools procedures. Encourage parental involvement in students' education and maintain effective communication with students and families. Ensure that student conduct aligns with school expectations and University Schools policies. Collaborate regularly with grade-level team members to plan instruction, align curriculum, review student data, and support shared responsibility for student learning. Collaborate with interventionists, special education staff, and support personnel to meet the needs of all learners. Select and utilize appropriate instructional materials, resources, and technology to enhance student learning. Supervise students during activities that take place outside the classroom, including recess, field trips, transitions, and other school activities as assigned. Administer district, state, and University Schools assessments in accordance with testing guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the school's mission and instructional program. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of current teaching theory methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles. Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts. Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. Education, Qualification and Related Work Experience Bachelor's degree, preferred in elementary education or early childhood. Hold or be eligible for a Colorado teaching license. Prefer teacher to demonstrate the following experience: Successful elementary school teaching experience. Interest and skill in the development of innovative approaches to teaching and interdisciplinary education. Licenses, Registrations or Certifications Certification/License: Colorado State Certification as an Elementary Teacher or Early Childhood. Colorado State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred. Background check required for hire.
