Join us!POSITION SUMMARYThis position will work in close communication with the Engineering team to ensure all specification requirements are effectively and efficiently tested. Proficiency of documentation of results in LIMS system and report creation for distributing results will be key. In addition, this position is also responsible for the physical, mechanical and chemical tests of current and new product designs.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, industry specifications, and testing protocols.Following standard product testing methods and report generation guidelines. Proficient with basic laboratory tools and instruments such as calipers, gages, vision systems, tensile testers, etc.Familiar with problem solving methods and tools.Must have good written and verbal communication skills.Must have high attention to detail and efficiency.Must like working with hands and discovering how a product performs or what caused it to fail.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe (pdf files) and LIMSey test scheduling system.Organization of work area, test sample storage best practices.Level of Experience: The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in engineering, testing, or manufacturing of products in the medical device industry.Level of Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college level work is desirable.Travel: As the business needs.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform testing in a competent manner according to published test methods. Must understand and be fully committed to impartiality and performing all testing in an unbiased manner.Accurately document all testing steps including taking photographs of setups and failures for inclusion in reports. Use of basic measuring equipment such as height gauges, surface plates, indicators, calipers, micrometers, gage blocks and tensile tester. Ability to meet with lab customers (test requestors) for training on test methods, discussion of results and to align on clarification of details and additional requests as needed.Participation in Lean / 5S / 6 Sigma projects as necessary, will maintain a clean and organized workspace.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIESUphold and embody AirLife's values in all aspects of work.Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in daily work; look for ways to improve and promote quality & safety.
