GCS Crossing Guard Substitute

The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for the 2025-26 school year: Goshen Community SchoolsCrossing Guard SubstitutePOSITION PURPOSE: Provides safety and welfare of students in transit to and/or from school; and communicates observations and/or incidents that may impact the general wellbeing of students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists students and parents in providing safe access to and from schools. Communicates school policies and enforcement procedures to students, personnel and visitors to ensuring their understanding and the potential consequences of violation. Directs students and other pedestrians to ensuring their safe access to and from school. Intervenes in potentially hazardous situations to minimizing injury to involved parties. Maintains equipment (e.g. stop sign, vests, street signs, etc.) to ensuring availability of required items. Reports observations and/or incidents relating to specific students i.e. accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, etc. Communicates information for follow up by appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel. REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age QUALIFICATIONS: Must be reliable Safety Oriented HOURS: As Needed SALARY: $16.00 per visit (Schedule #23-CGSUB) BENEFITS: This position is not eligible for benefits.
