Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an EHS Manager for a premier Heavy Industrial Manufacturing leader in the Finger Lakes region (Geneva, NY). This is a high-priority, "immediate need" leadership role within a 4,000-employee global organization. We are seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety expert to serve as a core member of the site leadership team. The successful candidate will be the primary authority on EPA regulations, hazardous materials management, and wastewater compliance. This role is not just about oversight; it is about driving a culture of "World-Class Manufacturing" and environmental stewardship across a large-scale industrial operation with significant room for long-term career advancement. Job Responsibilities Site EHS Leadership: Provide strategic direction to the executive team, conducting comprehensive performance assessments across all EHS program elements. EPA & Environmental Mastery: Serve as the subject matter expert for hazardous materials and wastewater compliance, ensuring 100% alignment with state and federal regulations. Metric-Driven Performance: Analyze key EHS metrics and KPIs to identify trends, enhance site safety, and minimize the environmental footprint of manufacturing operations. Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for all governmental and agency inspections, facilitating audits and corporate governance programs. Risk Mitigation: Implement and manage a robust site hazard/risk analysis program and lead detailed investigations into all EHS incidents with sustainable corrective actions. Operational Coaching: Partner with Operations Leaders to mentor and coach them on site safety requirements and proactive risk observation. Training Strategy: Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and deliver a comprehensive EHS training curriculum for all levels of the organization. Emergency Readiness: Maintain a leadership presence and remain accessible for emergency response as part of the site’s senior leadership protocol. Requirements Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in EHS, Engineering, Science, or a related field is REQUIRED. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent relevant EHS certification is highly preferred. Experience Minimum of five (5) or more years of EHS experience in a Heavy Industrial or Heavy Manufacturing environment is REQUIRED. Mandatory Expertise: Advanced, proven experience in EPA regulations, hazardous materials management, and wastewater compliance. Demonstrated success in leading and motivating high-performing technical teams. Technical Skills Deep knowledge of safety and environmental management systems (ISO 14001/45001). Ability to leverage modern technology, including AI-related tools, to support EHS monitoring and reporting initiatives. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging both shop-floor employees and C-suite executives.
