Job Description:
The School Psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological and school-based mental health services to students while supporting the development of sustainable mental health systems within the district. This position is part of Project RESPECT, a statewide initiative designed to expand Oklahoma's school-based mental health workforce and strengthen district capacity to deliver comprehensive, data-driven mental health services.The School Psychologist will collaborate with educators, families, and community partners to support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success. In addition to conducting psychoeducational evaluations and supporting special education services, the position will contribute to the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for behavior and mental health, assist with universal mental health screening, and support prevention and early intervention efforts.Duties and responsibilities? Support implementation of an MTSS for behavior, mental health, and academics, including assistance with universal screening and data-based decision making to identify students needing additional support.? Provide evidence-based individual and small group mental health interventions while supporting prevention, early identification, and Tier II and Tier III behavioral supports. Participate in crisis response, threat assessment, and safety planning procedures, and assist in the development and ongoing monitoring of behavior intervention plans to ensure effective support for students.? Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to support eligibility determination and educational planning for students suspected of having disabilities and participate as a member of multidisciplinary teams and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and review.? Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student learning, behavior, and mental health needs. Assist in building referral pathways, community partnerships, and MOUs.? Participate in Project RESPECT professional learning opportunities, mentorship activities, and statewide networking with other school psychologists.Required Qualifications? Education Specialists or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.? Eligibility for certification as a School Psychologist by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.? Knowledge of psychoeducational assessment procedures and special education eligibility processes.? Preferred: Experience implementing MTSS within a school or district team.
