Checks temperature for damage and unacceptable quality, follows established return procedures with immediate supervisorAbility to weigh, price, label, organize and rotate Food products per Marukai' standards• Proactively supports any promotional activity within the store and contributes to an effective working environment• Breaking down pallets, separating Food products for sales floor, cooler and/or back room prep area• Processing Food products• Maintains a well-organized back stock/cooler areaEnsures that all Food products are in it's right place, so shoppers can find what they need quickly and easily• Maintains good communication with store management, associates and suppliers/vendors• Serves as a back-up for the Food Department's other sections and in other departments as needed• Stocking empty shelves and helps customer service department when the line gets long• Maintaining cleanliness of the store/ store upkeep• Notifies immediate supervisor of out of stock products• Notifies immediate supervisor of price discrepanciesMust be knowledgeable of merchandise placement and location• Must clean and sanitize work areasCustomer Service:Providing premier customer service, including greeting them and responding to questionsEngaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniquesMeets or exceeds Department's sales goals assigned through the efficient execution of Company policies and proceduresMaintains cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floorEnsures a safe and clean work environmentCross Training: Store Support Associates exemplify teamwork and are open to and willing to be trained and step-in when needed in all departments and similar skilled areas for filling and development opportunities.Perform other tasks that would be instructed by Department Leader or Store Manager around the floor during busy times of the dayRequirementsStore Support Associate (Food Department)Marukai Markets dba TOKYO CENTRAL is one of the fastest-growing chain of retail stores and supermarkets offering the widest selection of Japanese and Hawaiian imported grocery and retail products in the nation.
