Plant Operations Manager

Our client is currently seeking a Plant Operations Manager (Assistant Plant Manager) for thier Extrusion Facility near Gadsden AL. This is a decently large facility with almost 20 extrusion lines and roughly 250 employees. Working along side the Plant Manager, the Operations Manager will lead & optimize plastic extrusion operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production, driving continuous improvement, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe & efficient workplace. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise in extrusion processes, and a commitment to operational excellence.Interested Candidates should contact Lee Douglas @ 610 617-1447 or email a current resume to LDouglas@ This job will have the following responsibilities:Oversee all aspects of plastic extrusion production, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow optimizationEnsure production targets, quality standards, and delivery deadlines are consistently metMonitor KPIs (efficiency, scrap rates, downtime, throughput) and implement corrective actionsLead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles)Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance productivityCollaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve equipment performanceSupervise, coach, and develop production supervisors and staffEnsure all products meet customer specifications and internal quality standardsPartner with Quality Assurance to investigate and resolve defects or non-conformancesMaintain compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standardsCoordinate with supply chain to ensure availability of raw materials and colorantsManage inventory levels to minimize waste and avoid production delays Work closely with sales, customer service, and logistics to meet customer expectationParticipate in strategic planning and operational budgeting Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field - preferred10+ years of Experience in Manufacturing Operations | Preferably in Plastic Extrusion Processes 5-7+ years of Leadership Experience | Senior Supervisory or Management Strong knowledge of plastic extrusion processes, materials, and equipmentExperience with ERP systems and production planning toolsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) JDP
