What you'll do Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to advance frontier agent evaluations in personal finance. As a Personal Finance Expert, you'll build long"‘horizon personal finance tasks that mirror the work you already do, each paired with a deterministic rubric that grades agent performance against verifiable ground truth. Tasks need to have checkable answers; no open"‘ended essays, no subjective judgment calls. These scenarios will be challenging and take long sessions of focus. Expect to build scenarios across: Day"‘to"‘day money: Transaction categorization against a defined category map Budget reconciliation to known targets Spending anomaly detection with seeded anomalies Tax and planning: Tax packet assembly with a required"‘document checklist Net worth rollups with computable totals Consumer finance: Credit card comparisons scored against a defined rubric Billing disputes with ground"‘truth valid/invalid outcomes Who we're looking for 3+ years in personal finance, tax prep, bookkeeping, or wealth advisory Expertise in one or more of the following: tax preparation (TurboTax or equivalent), budgeting systems (Mint, Monarch, Copilot), personal bookkeeping (QuickBooks), US tax rules, credit card and rewards ecosystems Comfortable reading and producing personal finance artifacts: budgets, tax packets, dispute letters, portfolio summaries Clear written communication; can articulate reasoning step by step and encode it into deterministic rubrics CFP, EA, CPA, or equivalent a plus Located in the United States or Canada Compensation: $65-$90 / hr depending on domain depth and prior experience.
