Job Title: Laboratory Assistant - SAR/Specific Absorption Rate Primary Location: Fremont, California Position Type: W-2 Long Term Contract Now - December 2026 Schedule: 2nd Shift | Monday-Friday | 4:00 PM - 1:00 AM Peak Hours / Shift Details: From Mid-May to Mid-August: • 72 hours/week required • 6 days per week • 12-hour shifts Peak Shift Hours • 2nd Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM Before Mid-May • Expected schedule is closer to standard 40 hours/week Overview Our premier client is seeking Laboratory Assistants to support testing operations within a Radio Frequency (RF) engineering laboratory environment, specifically related to SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) and compliance-based testing. This is a strong opportunity for individuals with laboratory, testing, technical, or compliance-related experience who enjoy hands-on work, following structured procedures, and supporting engineers in a fast-paced lab setting. This role will involve assisting with sample preparation, test execution, data recording, equipment setup, documentation, and general lab support while learning specialized testing processes used to evaluate product compliance and performance. What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience) • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific, engineering, or technical field strongly preferred • Prior laboratory, compliance, testing, or technical support experience preferred • Previous SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) or RF compliance testing exposure is highly preferred • Ability to work in a structured, process-driven laboratory environment • Comfortable working with laboratory instrumentation, measuring tools, and computer-based systems • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document findings and test results • Ability to read and interpret: • Blueprints • Schematics • Wiring diagrams • Operational instructions • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to learn new testing methods, equipment, and systems quickly • Comfortable supporting engineers and technical staff in a hands-on environment What You'll Do (Skills Used in this Position) • Support senior laboratory staff with sample processing, test setup, and test execution • Build, adapt, and prepare basic setups and equipment used for laboratory testing • Perform tests using general laboratory equipment and tools • Record, interpret, and explain test results accurately • Prepare supporting documentation including: • Data sheets • Charts • Graphs • Reports • Operate computer systems and available software to input, extract, and manage test-related information • Follow defined test plans, procedures, and datasheets • Evaluate sample performance and test output to support accurate result interpretation • Examine test samples and review test data with engineers or supervisors • Read measuring instruments and document observed or calculated results • Assist in learning and operating customer-specific test methods and procedures • Communicate with customers during setup and operation as needed to support proper evaluation • Perform routine care and upkeep of designated lab equipment and work areas • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the lab • Follow all applicable safety, physical security, digital security, and Code of Conduct requirements • Perform additional duties as assigned Compensation Information The expected salary range for this position is $19 - $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
