Substance Treatment Counselor -Adolescent Outpatient Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program SALARY RANGE: $63,000 - $68,000annual MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree (copy required upon hire) * CASAC-P (required within 2 months of intial hire date) * Yearly Physical (required within 1 month of hire) * Valid NYS Driver's License (copy required upon hire) * Ability to work with a diverse population presenting a variety of cultural, socioeconomic, developmental and sexual identities. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Master's in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or CASAC REQUIREMENTS: * Must successfully complete all required background checks: § NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR) § Multi-State Sex Offender Registry (SOR) § NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) fingerprinting § NYS Justice Center Staff Exclusion List (SEL) § NYS OMIG Medicaid Exclusion List § Out-of-state child abuse register inquiry of any state in which the person resided within the last five years (if applicable) § NYS License Event Notification Service (LENS) § Office of Inspector General (OIG) * Must successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) HOURS * 8am - 5pm 3 Days, 12pm - 8pm 2 Days, Saturday & Sunday Off * Must be flexible to meet the needs of the program PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Must be able to successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training. After Restraint Training, must be able to preform restraints if necessary. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Interviews clients, family, and referral sources to record all necessary information. * Completes diagnostic assessments for clients. * Participates as a team member in developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans for each client. * Monitors and evaluates client progress; assesses and updates treatment plans. * Provides individual, group, and family therapy for clients. * Serves as a referral source and liaison in determining the needs of clients and coordinating services with appropriate community resources. * Completes all documentation responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner. * Compiles and updates case records, maintains regular progress notes, and develops discharge plans with appropriate referrals for ongoing care. * Prepares and participates in treatment plans, evaluations, and reviews for clients. * Participates in gathering client information or program data, and submits reports to the Program Director. * Provides clinical supervision and training to program staff as needed. * Completes tasks delegated by the program director. * Actively seeks out and participates in ongoing education/training that improves the quality of treatment of clients. * Completes quality assurance and utilization review as delegated by the program director. * Responsible for adhering to and performing all duties following all rules, regulations, policies, and safety standards of The William George Agency and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, while upholding our mission, vision, and values. It is a private not-for-profit residential treatment center licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) that serves both male and female youth between the ages of 12 and 21, and their families, who present with significant mental health issues, behavioral difficulties, and substance abuse issues.
