Weyerhaeuser is seeking an energetic Mill Operations Manager to oversee our lumber manufacturing facility. This is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Director of Gulf South Lumber Manufacturing. As the Mill Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe, effective manufacturing processes and the timely delivery of products to customers. You will also foster a culture of engagement and excellence among our team while managing costs and developing future leaders. Your daily responsibilities will include: Serving as a role model for our core values: Safety, Integrity, Citizenship, Sustainability, and Inclusion. Creating a culture that prioritizes safety through engaged leaders and team members, supported by effective safety systems. Developing a work environment that focuses on our people, recognizing them as our greatest asset in achieving business objectives. Engaging team members to manufacture lumber safely that meets customer requirements, while driving improvements in key business metrics. Coaching and guiding staff throughout the manufacturing process. Taking ownership of the site’s reliability, financial performance, procurement, productivity, environmental concerns, and overall operational stewardship. Ensuring the execution of business and individual objectives, including capital plans, expense budgets, safety strategies, and performance management plans, with a focus on excellence. Qualifications: At least 10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, demonstrating success in safety, quality, productivity, cost management, and people development. Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills that foster collaboration to achieve business objectives. Strong business and financial knowledge. Proven ability to elevate performance through positive relationships, coaching, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Experience engaging teams in behavior-based safety practices. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and planning capabilities. Able to work flexible hours as needed in a manufacturing environment. Desired Skills and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field, or in forestry/wood products. Experience in manufacturing environments related to wood products, preferably in lumber. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, innovation, and continuous improvement methodologies. What We Offer: Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit increase program, targeting a salary range of $144,790-$217,000, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, you'll have access to our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 25% of base salary. Potential funding may range from zero to two times that target. There is also a Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) which includes stock options. We also recognize 11 paid holidays annually, amounting to 88 holiday hours, along with paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
