Job DescriptionJOB OVERVIEW• Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician• Job Type: Locum Tenens• Location: Franklin, LA• Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient• Coverage Type: Clinical Only• Coverage Period: 05/01/2026 - Ongoing• Clinical Shift Schedule: Multiple shifts available including Day (7a-4p), Day 2 (9a-6p), Swing (3p-11p), and Night (7p-7a)COVERAGE DATES• Coverage begins May 1, 2026• Ongoing coverage required• Flexible scheduling based on department needsPATIENT INFORMATION• Patient Demographics: Adults• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 25,000 annual ED visits• Admissions: Approximately 8% admissions or transfers• Rounding: Not Included• Phone Consults: No• Case Mix: Broad emergency medicine case mix with most adult subspecialties available except NeurosurgeryFACILITY INFORMATION• EMR System: Epic• Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment• Specialty Backup Available: Most adult subspecialties available except Neurosurgery• Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Provider coverage from 12p - 9p along with nursing and ED support staff• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coveragePRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE• Hospital Privileges Required: YesCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS• Overtime: Daily OT after 12 hours and Weekly OT after 168 hours• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: TBDREQUIRED PROCEDURES• Emergency patient evaluation and stabilization• Airway management and intubation• Suturing and wound management• Fracture stabilization and splinting• Emergency diagnostic evaluation and treatmentJOB REQUIREMENTS• Licenses: Active Louisiana Medical License or willingness to obtain• Board: ABEM, ABIM, or ABFM with Emergency Medicine experience• DEA: Active DEA Certification• Certifications: BLS and ACLS• Experience: Emergency Medicine experience required; EM residency trained physicians considered• Other Qualifications: Fellowship training preferred; board certification preferredDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department• Perform patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics• Perform emergency procedures as required• Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nurses, and hospital staff to ensure high-quality patient care• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the Epic EMR system
