Description - What You'll Do Conduct both routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests-including chemistry, hematology, immunology, and beyond-following established procedures. Interpret results for precision, identify and resolve discrepancies, and carry out maintenance and calibration on lab equipment. Aid in specimen collection and prepare samples for analysis, ensuring quality results. Document processes in detail, mentor new colleagues or interns, and help to uphold laboratory quality standards. Ensure a tidy, safe workspace and meet all regulatory and accreditation protocols. Education A Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or a similar allied health degree along with preparation for ASCP/AMT certification. Certifications ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) to be obtained within the first year of employment. Maintain active certification for the duration of employment. Skills Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration within healthcare teams. Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solve, especially in high-pressure environments.
