Overview The EHS Coordinator will work as an integral part of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team to create and maintain a culture that reflects a commitment to protecting the environment, health, safety and sustainability of employees, environment and products. They will ensure we adhere to all applicable regulatory compliance and continuous improvement through technical support and tactical execution. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Business Management, Occupational Safety, or related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities at a significant level of responsibility, preferred. Maintain current certification in DOT/Hazardous Materials, as required. Minimum 1 years Environmental Science or Environmental, Safety, or industry experience, preferred. Job Responsibilities Assure that all employees receive all required environmental and safety training pertaining to their job duties. Assure completion and documentation of all annual spill response drills. Work with employees at all levels of the organization to understand and mitigate the impact of choices on the environment, the workplace, and their health in ways that promote continuous improvement. Research industry best practices and continuous improvement opportunities; stay abreast of new safety and environmental laws and regulations. Have working knowledge of chemical management system; complete annual audit of SDS; provide system training to employees as applicable. Assist with the review and maintenance of controlled documents, update as needed. Assist with annual review of aspect and impact analysis. Complete regular facility walkthroughs to evaluate compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Approve machine IQ/OQs for EHS and maintain Environmental Equipment List by updating processing aid and compliance information as required. Maintain elements of OSHA required programs including, but not limited to, Forklift Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Personal Protective Equipment, Confined Space Entry, Hazard Communication, Fall Protection, Hearing Conservation and Emergency Response. Schedule and complete compliance audits. Assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Assure hazardous waste management, including completion of hazardous waste manifest. Perform routine environmental checks. Perform other duties as requested by management. Skills Needed Must be a self-starter, with strong decision-making skills. Ability to work well with many personality types in a growing and changing environment. Proficient use of computers using Microsoft Office products. Strong oral and written communication skills. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Industrial environment involving varied processes related to the production of wire. Support of 2nd and 3rd shift operations required as necessary for safety training or other support. Travel approximately 10% to 30% of the time for training and oversight of facilities. Must be able to access all areas of operation. Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. Bending, reaching, and stooping during shift.
