SUMMARY: Responsible for properly executing security duties on assigned shift, to adequately preserve the safety of guest, team members, and Shoshone-Bannock Gaming Operation and Hotel assets and interests. Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution. Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Will be required report, to immediate supervisor, irregularities, damage, tampering, vandalism, or suspicious activities of team members, guests, vehicles, Gaming and Hotel property, or other equipment and items entrusted to the Company. Will generate electronic and/or written reports as necessary regarding security-related incidents involving guests, team members, facility and property. Will give escorts to guest and team members, when assigned or needed. Will observe guest and team members, while posted or on patrol. Will patrol to identify potential safety hazards and reports same to the appropriate individual, for proper resolution. Becomes familiar with hazardous materials used on property, and all applicable laws, rules and regulations governing same. May, act as a Dispatcher during emergency situations on Casino and Hotel properties, and coordinates situations to security team members or emergency personnel; informs outside agencies of any unusual or suspicious situations on property when directed. Operates company vehicles as directed to do so and ensures safe transportation of company assets. Maintains a working knowledge of the Company's facilities, as well as special events on property, in order to advise guests and fellow team members of same, whenever possible. Interacts with guests and team members in a positive and professional manner. Provides a maximum level of Legendary Service and satisfaction throughout the property. Attends regularly scheduled departmental meetings. Retains a series of keys when issued, accessing locked areas or equipment as necessary. May be required to certify for bicycle patrol and utilize company patrol bicycles as selected or assigned. Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License. Leads by setting a positive example to all employees. Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum requirements for this position include a High School Diploma or GED, medical certification and/or physical assessment every 12 months to ensure ability to perform physical demands. High School Diploma or GED; CPR/AED and TIPS certification (obtained during introductory period) (G7) High School Diploma or GED; CPR/AED and TIPS certification (obtained during introductory period) with bicycle patrol training certificate and listing as an insured driver. ON-SITE TEST REQUIRED: All tests are conducted at the Human Resources Office and must be completed in order to be considered for employment. Deadline to complete testing is two (2) days after posting closed date, appointments are necessary: Written report skills test. Typing test, if applicable. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Applicant selected will be required to successfully pass a "physical exam" to determine physical capability of preforming the required tasks of the position every 12 months. CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, AND REGISTRATIONS Must be able to submit supporting documents of education and training (High School Diploma, GED, College Degree and Certificates). Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license in good standing according to the licensing rules and regulations. Must be able to obtain and maintain in good standing a Driver's License and qualify for Fleet Management coverage on company vehicles. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition subtraction and multiplication tables. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Security Officer to successfully perform the essential functions of this job in addition to an annual medical certification for Security Trainings. While performing the duties of this job, the Employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The Employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The Employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 lb., and occasionally required to lift up to 50 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. MUST BE ABLE TO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING ABILITIES: Ability to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while working under pressure. Ability to be mobile, able to run 1500 feet or more, walk up stairs and in rough uneven terrain, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Ability to bend over and reach from floor to height of six (6) feet; eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity, ability to reach with hands and arms; ability to feel objects, tools or controls; ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of 8 hours or more. Normal hearing required; ability to talk; ability to listen and discern sounds in both noisy and quiet environments. The Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to one hundred pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus in both bright and low light environments. Ability to ride a bicycle, drive a van, truck, or car.
