Description: Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking Summer School Paraprofessional during Summer of 2026. The Teacher's Aide will assist in engaging students in meaningful, rigorous, standards-aligned learning opportunities in the Summer School program. Aides will assist teachers in preparing lesson plans, design and grade formative and summative assessments, and provide in-person student-centered instruction while maintaining attendance records and grades on the district-approved Student Information System (SIS). Summer School Paraprofessionals must have the required endorsements for the courses in which they assist. They must attend professional development prior to the first summer session and commit to both sessions. Courses will be taught in person. Summer School Dates: Session 1? Monday,June 8 through Thursday, June 25, 2026 Session 2 Monday,July 6 through Thursday, July 23, 2026 ? Schedule:? ?? Classes meet Monday through Thursday. No class on Fridays. Session goes from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Teachers report from 7:45 am to 1:15 pm ? Position Responsibilities: * Provide extra assistance to students with special needs, such as non-English speaking students or those with physical and mental disabilities * Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers * Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums or on field trips * Enforce administration policies and rules governing students * Observe students' performance and record relevant data to assess progress * Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts * Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage Proviso Township High Schools uses the applicant tracking system from Frontline Education to manage employment applications online.
