Job Description:
Sullivan 180 is hiring for a seasonal Prevention Program Assistant to support vaping prevention educational programming throughout the summer. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children and youth and be ready to connect with people to both educate and empower them to stay vape-free. This position will include both in-office administrative duties as well as travel to camp programs and events across Sullivan County.Job PurposeThe Sullivan 180 Prevention Program Assistant supports a range of initiatives and performs outreach to promote evidence-based prevention programs, trainings and health equity related events in Sullivan County. As part of this internship projects will be identified with specific timelines and deliverables. Specific duties include:Be a part of the Sullivan 180 team Assist with outreach to Sullivan County camps to promote and book vaping prevention programsResearch and collect upcoming community outreach opportunitiesAssemble vaping prevention materials for community outreach, classes and trainingsAssist and support vaping prevention activities with youth General duties include:Administrative tasks in support of program initiatives. Participate in meetings, events and trainings.Qualifications:Entering or current college student pursuing a degree in Education, Public Health, Community Health, Health Administration or other applicable field.Prior experience working with children and/or young adults is required.Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and writing skills.Cultural competency to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Must exercise discretion, sound judgment, and the highest professional ethics.Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher & Word.Valid driving license and access to reliable transportation to travel throughout the county, regularly visiting schools, camps and attending meetings.Mission driven and interested in community and public health.Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and ExcelFamiliarity with Sullivan County geography, agencies and organizations preferredThis Company is an Equal Employment Opportunity Agency and will give all qualified applicants consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.Monday-Thursday, weekends as needed for events
