Aerial Lift Operator with CDL Required

Description Job Title: Aerial Lift Operator (CDL Required) Join our team as an Aerial Lift Operator, where you will play a vital role in ensuring safety and efficiency while clearing trees along electrical power lines and right-of-ways. This position involves operating a bucket truck to remove branches that may interfere with electric lines. Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Pay: Competitive, hourly Benefits: Benefit options based on tenure, position, and location. Key Responsibilities: Plan, assign, and coordinate work effectively. Obtain necessary permissions from property owners to perform tree trimming and removal tasks. Foster positive relationships with customers and the public through professionalism and quality work. Collaborate with local authorities when necessary to ensure safe work environments. Implement safety measures to protect crew members and the public, including the setup of barriers and warning signs. Ensure high-quality production while adhering to safety practices in tree and brush clearing. Operate various equipment including bucket trucks, hydraulic tools, and power saws. Work safely near energized lines and conduct tree rescue operations as needed. Utilize hand tools effectively for a variety of tasks. Remove and dispose of debris following completion of work. Conduct selective applications of herbicides for stumps and brush. Assist in training and mentoring new hires. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Familiarity with electrical hazards is essential. Ability to identify various tree and shrub species. Strong physical ability, including lifting, twisting, and coordination. Willingness to join the local union and contribute to union dues. Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Entry-level position; no prior experience necessary. Previous related experience is a plus. Pre-Screen: Successful candidates may undergo a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and/or MVR check. License & Certifications: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required. Operators must have excellent vision and coordination skills, be able to focus for long periods, endure varying weather conditions, and communicate effectively while adhering to safety protocols. Work in all weather conditions and among natural elements, such as plants and insects. Regular work near energized equipment and traffic. Exposure to noise from heavy machinery, with required use of hearing protection. Working around hazards associated with high voltage equipment and falling debris.
