Our client, a Virginia-based MEP consulting firm, partners on projects ranging from university campuses and healthcare facilities to laboratories and civic buildings, many with a strong emphasis on sustainability and long-term energy performance. As they continue to grow, they're looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their Fairfax, Richmond or Charlottesville based team.You'll be part of a collaborative group where you can take real ownership of projects, solve challenging engineering problems, and develop your skills across the full building lifecycle, all within a supportive, people-first culture. Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Electrical Engineer, this individual will lead project execution by utilizing their skills to complete the following: Coordinate with the client and the entire design team, including owners, architects, contractors, and internal team to ensure a fully coordinated design. Develop, track, and maintain project schedules to ensure deliverables are completed and client expectations are met. Prepare high-quality MEP documents, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports, and ensure coordination with all disciplines. Execute photometric calculations, load calculations, fault current, and any other calculations required to support electrical design. Ensure efficient project completion and review deliverables throughout the project. Work closely with equipment vendors and manufacturers' representatives for the selection and specification of appropriate equipment. Participate in the CA phase of the project, including submittal reviews and RFI responses. Analyze electrical engineering problems as they arise and formulate solutions.
