Job Title: Local Contract - Cyto Technologist Number of positions: 1 Years of experience: One to three years Shift: Night shifts- 40 hours Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 03/24/2024 Hourly pay: $44.94 OT: 1.5 Weekly Pay: $1685.25 JOB DESCRIPTIONSummaryDepartment: Lab Cytology Shift timings: 07:30 - 16:00 Hours. Monday to friday (3 Days/12 Hours) Per Week: 36 Hours Roles & ResponsibilitiesPerform microscopic examination of cellular samples, applying staining techniques and employing various laboratory equipment to identify and classify abnormal cells. Interpret the morphological features of cells to detect the presence of precancerous or cancerous conditions, infections, or other abnormalities. Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to evaluate test results and contribute to the formulation of accurate diagnosis reports. Maintain accurate records of samples analyzed, test results, and any necessary follow-up procedures or recommendations. Ensure quality control measures are implemented and followed rigorously to maintain accuracy and reliability of laboratory results. Stay updated with the latest advances in cytological techniques, diagnostic criteria, and equipment to ensure the highest standard of practice. Provide guidance and support to laboratory staff, including training new technicians or assistants, as needed. Adhere to established laboratory safety protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including evaluating and implementing new laboratory procedures or technologies. Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding sample collection or test results. QUALIFICATIONSBLS and ACLS National Institutes of Health (NIH) Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. The ability to stand for extended periods. Strong technical skills. Knowledge of medical terminology Passionate about patient care Requires a minimum of two years of current Cyto Technologist experience. Graduate from a fully accredited Cyto Technologist program Active unencumbered Indiana Cyto Technologist license One year of Cerner experience Requirements • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
