Must have an understanding of Cytology, Histology, Anatomy, and Immunohistochemical procedures. Must be familiar with and follow all safety procedures. Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to access the data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to the patient's age, specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Part-Time 20hrs/ week SUMMARY OF THE JOB This position has primary responsibility for cytologic evaluation of body samples. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (50%) Job Duties include the following, other duties may be assigned. 1. Evaluates microscopic slides including Gyn, Non-Gyn, and FNA slides. 2. Assists with FNA procedures. 3. Processes specimens for slide preparation. 4. Maintains QC and workload data. 5. Maintains a clean work environment. 6. Sends specialized testing out to reference lab. 7. Maintains archival slide/block files. 8. Performs patient and specimen computer data entry.
