Job Description:
Perform advanced nuclear medicine and PET imaging procedures at a leading cancer center specializing in adult and geriatric care. This travel opportunity in Evanston, IL, offers a dynamic role using GE imaging equipment to conduct approximately 3-4 PET scans daily on a Monday through Friday 4x10-hour day shift schedule (07:30 AM to 16:00 PM) with no call responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Conduct patient assessments for nuclear medicine and PET procedures, ensuring safety and accuracy under the supervision of a Board-Certified Radiologist. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and perform scanning procedures for both inpatients and outpatients. Promote radiation safety and adhere to isolation precautions. Provide thorough documentation using EPIC, and support interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response. Maintain clear communication employing SBAR technique. Handle peripheral IV starts and manage storage, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 3 years of PET experience with proficiency on GE equipment is required. Certifications: BLS, CNMT, ARRT or NMTCB, and current State License in Illinois. Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program. Experience in adult hospital settings, HIDA and PET scans, isolation protocols, and peripheral IV maintenance. Preferred experience with Siemens equipment and nuclear medicine procedures such as gastric emptying, MUGA scan, bone scans, liver imaging, and SPECT.
