Travel RN - PACU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with ICU and pediatric PACU experience for a 13-week travel contract, including on-call and ICU float responsibilities. Job Details • Hospital PACU setting, including Pedi PACU, Phase I & II Recovery, and Pre/Post Op care, • Rotating day/evening schedule on a 4x10 format with shift times of 0900-1930 and 1000-2030, plus evening shifts (1300-2330) once every other week, • 2 weekends required per 6-week period, • On-call is required, • Float to ICU required, • Patient ratio of 1:2, • Charting via Cerner (required), • Wide range of surgical cases including General, ENT, Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Gyn, Vascular, Robotics, Urology, and Plastics, Job Requirements • Active MD or compact RN license required, • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required, • Minimum 2 years of PACU nursing experience required, • ICU experience required, • Pediatric PACU experience required, • Proficiency with Cerner EMR required, • Two supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration, • Nurses with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler, Additional Information • Responsibilities include pre-op assessment and education, post-anesthesia care, pain and sedation management (RASS scale), PCA pump management, arterial line management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, IV therapy, blood product administration, and post-epidural care, • Experience with malignant hyperthermia protocol, hypothermia protocol, and management of ventilated patients is expected, • Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are accepted, • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, and all RTO must be submitted at the time of application, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
