Job Description:
A Mine Security Technician at our rural Eureka, Nevada Gold Bar mine plays a critical role in protecting employees, contractors, visitors, and company assets while helping maintain smooth, disruptionfree operations. This position is highly active and fieldfocused, involving routine patrols, monitoring radios and CCTV systems, managing site access, and ensuring only authorized personnel enter the property. You'll compile daily security reports, communicate alerts or warnings when needed, support operations crews with preop and postop inspections, and complete required documentation for all personnel arriving on site. The role also includes organizing badging and temporary entry for vendors and suppliers, participating in daily and weekly safety meetings, and maintaining strict compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company policies. Success comes from accurate reporting, strong situational awareness, consistent adherence to SOPs, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to unusual or suspicious activity. Candidates should understand key mining security principles, MSHA requirements, CCTV and access control systems, and basic securityrelated computer programs. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, problemsolving ability, and comfort using radios are essential. This position requires a valid driver's license and the physical ability to work 10-12hour shifts, stand or walk for long periods, climb ladders or stairs, lift up to 50 lbs, work in PPE including a respirator when required, and operate in all weather conditions. A positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to stay calm under pressure are key to thriving in this role and contributing to the safety and security of our rural mining operation.
