POSITION SUMMARY: The Mental Health Worker functions as a clinical member of the multidisciplinary team and is responsible for implementing rehabilitation and support interventions as outlined in the treatment plan for clients enrolled in the ACT program and under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, case management, medication monitoring, assistance with the activities of daily living (ADL), crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of the Team Leader and Psychiatrist, psychosocial education, vocational support and supportive counseling, and consultation with families. The incumbent is expected to provide recovery-oriented interventions according to each client's individual treatment plan and maintain professional relationships with other providers, both internal and external to the program. The Mental Health Worker, along with every member of the ACT team, must adhere to the fidelity standards, DPW regulations, and the policies and procedures established by the organization. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's level degree in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, nursing, counseling or education; or, high school diploma and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology or other social science and 2 years experience in public or private human services with 1 year in direct client contact. * Exceptional communication skills, both written & verbal, organizational skills & the ability to effectively work with a team of other mental health professionals. * Strong clinical skills with working knowledge of the mental health system, psychiatric rehabilitation principles and recovery-oriented practices. * Ability to effectively work with persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders and forensic issues and encourage their participation with comprehensive treatment plans. * Act 33/34/31 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check. * Valid driver's license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.
