RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Engineer (Data Platform/Infrastructure Focus) in Greenwood Village, CO.Overview:We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong experience in building and optimizing data pipelines within a cloud-based environment. This role is focused on data infrastructure and pipeline development, supporting data science and production use cases-not analytics or reporting.You will work closely with data science teams to ensure they have reliable, well-structured data to power models and drive insights, while also helping evolve and modernize the underlying data platform.About the Role:This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and optimizing data systemsYou will operate in a dynamic environment where priorities may evolve as new data initiatives emergeYou will play a key role in enabling data science teams by delivering high-quality, reliable data pipelinesDuties Include:Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for data science and production workloadsPartner with data scientists to source, ingest, and prepare data for modeling and feature developmentEvaluate data availability and build solutions to ingest and structure new data sourcesOptimize data processing jobs for performance, scalability, and cost efficiencyDevelop and enhance data infrastructure, frameworks, and reusable componentsImplement data quality checks, validation, and unit testingSupport production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, backfills, and enhancementsHelp improve and modernize legacy pipelines and systems with technical debtREQUIREMENTS:Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of data structures and transformationsHands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)Experience working with large-scale data processing tools such as Amazon EMR or similarProven ability to optimize and scale data pipelines, not just build themSolid understanding of data architecture and pipeline designExperience working in production environments, including debugging and performance tuningNice to Have:Experience with streaming technologies such as Apache KafkaFamiliarity with distributed processing frameworks like Apache SparkExposure to Scala or JavaThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.
