The Controls and Avionics Solutions business is part of the Electronic Systems sector within BAE Systems Inc. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: The Competitive and Market Intelligence internship at BAE Systems offers participants challenging work assignments as well as training and mentoring. Interns will gain relevant work experience within Business Development. Interns will support areas of business development and strategy such as market research and competitive assessment. Interns will also be responsible for assisting in the management of various business intelligence projects. II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Duties and responsibilities, which occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job) Assisting in determining strategies of the Company’s competitors Researching customer’s buying behaviors, competitive landscape, and how customer budgets will affect programs of interest Developing financial and other models to strengthen competitor analysis capabilities Tracking of major captures via market and competitive intelligence resources Preparing presentations for leadership, as assigned Required Education, Experience, & Skills Must be a good communicator, verbally and in writing. Must have proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (including Excel, Access, OneNote, PowerPoint, and/or Microsoft Business Intelligence) and utilizing computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents. Preferred candidate has strong analytical skills and an ability to sift through large volumes of data to gain relevant insight. Good academic standing (GPA of 3.0 or higher). Ability to work at least 10 weeks during the summer. Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience and confidence working in a remote environment. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Prior knowledge of the aerospace and defense industry and its practices is a plus. Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $40658 - $54841 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
