Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking an experienced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) for a compounding-focused position with a strong emphasis on both sterile and non-sterile preparations. This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, enjoys hands-on compounding work, and is committed to maintaining accuracy, cleanliness, and consistency in a quality-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Compound customized medications using proprietary formulationsPrepare sterile compounds (injectables, ophthalmics) and non-sterile compounds (oral liquids, topicals, tablets)Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the compounding labCalibrate and maintain equipment (scales, balances, electronic meters)Ensure proper documentation and adherence to quality standardsParticipate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance checksMonitor inventory and report low stock levelsHandle and dispose of chemicals following safety protocolsInvestigate and document any deviations from standard proceduresPrepare samples for testing as requiredUtilize pharmacy software for prescription processing, labeling, and documentation Qualifications Active PTCB Certification (CPhT)Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (in good standing)Knowledge of USP and USP ; sterile compounding experience preferredStrong understanding of pharmacy calculations (ratios, conversions, concentrations)High attention to detail and ability to work in a precision-driven environmentExperience handling delicate compounding equipmentAbility to follow strict safety and documentation protocolsStrong computer skills; experience with pharmacy systems (Lifefile preferred)At least 1 year of sterile compounding experience preferred Benefits 401(k)Health InsurancePaid Time OffEmployee Discounts
