Job Description:
OverviewThe Junior Customs Broker supports the customs clearance process by assisting with the preparation, review, and submission of import and export documentation in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. This role works closely with senior brokers, clients, and government agencies to ensure timely and accurate clearance of shipments.Key Responsibilities:Assist in preparing and submitting customs entries through ACE (Automated Commercial Environment)Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents for accuracy and complianceClassify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) under supervisionEnsure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other government agencies (FDA, USDA, etc.)Communicate with clients, carriers, and internal teams regarding shipment status and documentation requirementsMonitor shipments and resolve clearance issues or delaysMaintain accurate records of entries and supporting documentationSupport audits and compliance reviews as neededStay updated on changes in customs regulations and trade lawsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred (International Business, Logistics, or related field)0-2 years of experience in customs brokerage, logistics, or international trade (internships accepted)Knowledge of import/export processes and basic customs regulations preferredFamiliarity with ACE systems and HTS classification is a plusStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent communication skills (English required; Spanish bilingual preferred)Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentSkills and ExperiencePreferred Skills:Basic understanding of IncotermsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to handle multiple shipments simultaneouslyExperience (Additional Preferred):Experience with costing in inbound freightKnowledge of costing processes for ocean freight charges and feesUnderstanding of purchase cost of goods and landed cost calculationsAbility to analyze and reconcile freight invoices and cost discrepanciesBenefitsDon't miss this chance to enhance your experience in a production environment while enjoying competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.Weekly pay$5 prescription drugs$5 doctor's visit copaysFree teledoctor serviceFree counseling servicesLife insurance includedVision insurance includedDental insurance includedVacation and holiday payScholarship Opportunities401(k) retirement planFree legal servicesOur unbeatable employee discount programApply now so we can hold a spot for you.
